Dr. James (“Jim”) Letzelter is a management consultant to the electric power industry, focusing on risk analysis, power plant valuation, economics, financial analysis, power market assessment, and regulatory support. Jim has performed valuations on over $20 billion of energy industry assets, used for financing, acquisition, development, litigation, and regulatory proceedings. He has served as an expert witness on a wide variety of energy issues including generating asset valuation, power market economics, gas pipeline development, and power supply procurement. He has over ten years of experience serving as the Auction Monitor and Technical Consultant for multiple states’ Standard Offer Service (SOS)/Basic Generation Service (BGS) auctions, including implementing @Risk to predict auction bid prices based on market conditions. Jim holds a B.S. degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering, an M.B.A. (Finance Concentration), and a Doctorate in Law & Policy.
